AGM
British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists
Annual General Meeting Wednesday 19th April 2023
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists is scheduled to take place virtually on Wednesday 19th April at 19:30. The Executive Committee (EC) invites all members to attend this meeting
Non-Agenda questions raised in the AGM which, after discussion develop into voting issues, may be voted on in the AGM or, depending on their importance, may be placed before the whole membership with supporting information from the AGM. The EC under the Chair will decide if a vote must be placed before the whole membership or may be voted upon in the AGM. Past AGMs have provided a time for constructive discussion of key issues concerning BAPO members and the EC hope that this AGM will be no exception. Request for Proposals (RFP) – Demonstration patients
The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) is seeking two experienced demonstration patients:
- One person with trans-tibial leg amputation caused by diabetes who walks with a trans-tibial leg prosthesis.
- One person with knee arthritis and medial compartment knee syndrome who wears a knee orthosis (knee brace).
Requests for Proposals (RFP) are sought for two demonstration patients to contribute their stories for inclusion in a new project “Case studies simulation for learning about prosthetics and orthotics”. BAPO has been successful in securing seed funding to develop a new learning resource simulation in the form of a mobile gaming application.
Request for Proposals (RFP) – Content writers
The British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) is seeking experienced prosthetic and orthotic experts to contribute to the development of a game application prototype designed to enhance learning about prosthetics and orthotics. As a content writer, you will be responsible for writing one or two patient case studies that will be used in the simulation app.
The simulation app will allow learners to interact with simulated patient case studies, listen to and watch their stories, and investigate their situations by asking questions. As the simulation progresses, learners will be required to make critical decisions about treatment actions, and the virtual reality in the game will change depending on their choices.
