Tech and Trends

What is Tech and Trends?

Tech and Trends is a biweekly virtual series designed to keep Prosthetists, Orthotists, Technicians, Support Workers, learners, and our AHP colleagues updated with the latest products, technologies, and innovations in the P&O industry. These webinars provide a platform for companies and researchers to showcase advancements that can enhance clinical practice and service user outcomes.

Who can register to deliver a Tech and Trends webinar?

Webinars are delivered by industry experts, product specialists, and researchers, including:

  • Corporate Partners showcasing cutting-edge solutions in P&O
  • Technology Developers & Innovators presenting new tools and materials
  • Research Experts sharing insights on emerging technologies
  • Industry Leaders discussing advancements in manufacturing and digital tools
  • Private Companies & International Companies – organisations outside the UK are also welcome to present, ensuring a global perspective on industry advancements

What is the cost of delivering a Tech and Trends webinar?

If you wish to deliver a Tech and Trends webinar, the cost is £199. This introductory fee is inclusive of VAT and valid until 30th September 2025.

What are the benefits to BAPO corporate partners for the Tech and Trends webinars?

Tech and Trends webinars are offered at no additional cost as part of our corporate partner package. Corporate partners enjoy the exclusive benefit of first refusal on available webinar dates and have the opportunity to deliver up to four webinars annually (one per quarter).

What does Tech and Trends cover?

Tech and Trends focuses on industry innovation and product awareness, including:

  • New orthotic and prosthetic products

(Please note that only commercially available products can be showcased; products still in the concept, prototype, or pilot stage are not eligible for presentation.)

  • Material advancements and manufacturing techniques
  • Digital tools, AI, and smart technology in P&O
  • Research-backed product developments
  • Emerging trends in assistive devices and rehabilitation

What does Tech and Trends NOT cover?

Tech and Trends does not include:

  • General professional development topics (These are covered in BAPO Teatime Talks)
  • Regulatory, workforce, or clinical best practices
  • Sales pitches or purely promotional content (All sessions must be educational and relevant to clinical practice)

Where do Tech and Trends webinar take place?

Sessions are hosted virtually on Microsoft Teams, ensuring accessibility for all attendees. The link to join is sent upon registration.

Date & Time: Every other Wednesday from 12:00 – 1.00 PM (45-minute presentation with 15 minutes for questions/discussion).

What dates are available for the Tech and Trends webinar?

The available dates for 2025 are: 11th June, 25th June, 9th and 23rd July, 6th and 20th August, 3rd and 17th September, 1st, 15th and 29th October, 12th and 26th November, and 10th December.

Who can attend a Tech and Trends webinar?

Registration is free and open to everyone involved in prosthetics and orthotics. All Tech and Trends webinars are recorded and made available exclusively to BAPO members in the Members Area of the BAPO website.
