BAPO supports a Right to Rehabilitation in Scotland.
Rehabilitation helps people recover, maintain independence and participate in everyday life. Prosthetists, orthotists and the wider rehabilitation workforce have an important role in care shaped around each person’s goals.
BAPO supports the Right to Rehab Coalition’s call for timely, coordinated access to rehabilitation for everyone who can benefit. Its A Right to Rehabilitation document proposes six actions for Scotland, including clearer access routes, investment in community rehabilitation and long-term workforce planning.
Access should be based on need, regardless of where someone lives.
