About BAPOConnect
BAPOConnect is the official tri-annual magazine of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO), created exclusively for our members. Each edition serves as a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing, professional dialogue, and sector-wide updates across the field of prosthetics and orthotics.
Our publication features a curated selection of content including research developments, educational opportunities, product innovations, national strategies and policy updates, BAPO committee news, event highlights, and a message from the BAPO Chair. BAPOConnect is a valued resource that keeps our members informed, connected, and inspired.
Submitting an Article
We actively encourage contributions from professionals, academics, learners, service users, and industry stakeholders. Submissions may include, but are not limited to:
– Case studies
– Research summaries
– Personal experiences or professional journeys
– Opinion pieces
– Innovative practices
– Educational insights or training resources
If you’re unsure whether your submission is suitable, we welcome you to email a brief outline or draft version to the BAPO Secretariat for preliminary review by our Editorial Committee. We aim to be inclusive and collaborative in our publishing approach.
Submission Guidelines – BAPOConnect 2025
Format Requirements
Articles should be submitted as Word documents. While PDF versions can be accepted for reference, any images or diagrams embedded in the document must also be supplied separately in high-resolution JPG format.
For optimal presentation, we recommend the following:
– Articles over one page should include supporting visuals where possible.
– Use subheadings to break up content and improve readability.
– Every submission must include a clear headline/title.
– Please include the author’s name, professional title, and organisation (if relevant).
Image Specifications
Embedded images in Word or PDF files are often compressed and unsuitable for print. To ensure the best quality, images should be submitted separately as high-resolution JPG files (ideally 1 MB or larger). While we strive to include all submitted images, we cannot guarantee inclusion unless the quality meets our minimum specifications.
Article Acceptance & Review Process
– Submissions are acknowledged upon safe receipt.
– Authors may request formal confirmation of acceptance.
– In the event of rejection, BAPO will make every effort to notify the author individually.
– Articles are generally published in the next available issue unless received after a deadline, in which case they may be held for a future edition.
Deadlines
Although submissions are accepted throughout the year, contributors aiming for inclusion in a specific issue must adhere to the published submission deadlines.
Terms of Use
By submitting content to BAPOConnect, you confirm that:
– You are the rightful owner or licensee of the material submitted.
– The content is original and does not infringe on the rights or intellectual property of others.
– The submission complies with all applicable laws and ethical standards.
– The content is not offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
– The submission is not promotional in nature unless submitted under an advertising agreement.
Editorial Rights
BAPO reserves the right to:
– Decline publication of submitted content without the need for justification.
– Edit content for grammar, clarity, and formatting consistency.
– Reuse content for future publication, online or in print, without prior notification to the author.
– Feature submitted content across our website and social media platforms.
– Publish images without individual credit, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Author Acknowledgment
Your article may be featured on the front page or promoted across BAPO’s social media platforms to enhance visibility. By submitting content, you grant BAPO the right to use the material for promotional or educational purposes.
If any terms are breached or complaints arise, contributors agree to indemnify and hold BAPO harmless against any related claims or liabilities.
