Peacocks Medical Group announces major expansion as it enters next chapter of growth

New manufacturing facility, cutting-edge technology investment and an expanded product portfolio signal a transformative year for the UK’s largest independent orthotics provider.

Peacocks Medical Group (PMG), the UK’s largest orthotics-only provider, is marking a significant milestone in its 123-year history with a series of announcements that, together, represent the most ambitious period of growth and investment in the company’s modern era.

Having doubled in size over the past five years, the company has opened a second state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sheffield – complementing its long-established headquarters and manufacturing base in Newcastle – alongside the launch of its own brand product range and a series of exclusive UK distribution agreements with leading clinical product manufacturers.

The 4,000 sq ft Sheffield facility, which opened early July 2026, will meet growing demand across PMG’s expanding national NHS contract portfolio. With over 47 dedicated clinicians embedded within NHS partner Trusts across the UK and more than 60 skilled technicians operating from its Newcastle site, the company has the clinical and technical infrastructure to deliver at scale. Sheffield will increase that capacity by 30%.

The new site also marks PMG’s commitment to next-generation manufacturing. Both facilities are transitioning to high-technology, automated production methods — incorporating 3D manufacturing technology and robotics. This investment is not incremental but is a fundamental shift in how PMG makes products, designed to ensure patients receive what they need, on time, every time.

Alongside its manufacturing expansion, PMG is launching its own branded product range and entering into a number of exclusive UK distribution agreements with specialist manufacturers and products such as Wellwalking, Fito, On Zen and MediRoyal, with several other agreements in advanced stages.

These partnerships bring new clinical technologies, data-driven cost-effective products and expanded patient choice to PMG and NHS clinicians and commissioners.

Together, these additions enable access to a broader, more sophisticated product offering, curated, quality-assured and supported by PMG’s clinical expertise.

David Stevens, CEO, Peacocks Medical Group, said: “This is a defining moment for Peacocks Medical Group. Our growth over the past five years reflects the trust that NHS partners have placed in us and this investment is our commitment to earning more of it. With Sheffield operational, our technology programme under way and a genuinely exciting product range coming to market, we are better placed than ever to deliver for patients.

“With a national footprint, a 123-year heritage and a clear strategy for the years ahead, Peacocks MedicaL Group enters this next phase as a stronger, faster and more capable organisation – one built to deliver life-changing orthotics to more patients, better.”
