Career and Education Guides

Career Framework Guide – This document forms a guide to the development of an industry wide career framework guide for Prosthetics and Orthotics. Based upon the Career Framework for Health, the guide provides a tool that will help to develop a workforce that is flexible, consistent, progressive and can deliver the right care in the right place, at the right time.

Education Framework Guide – This document was developed to support the Career Framework Guide for Prosthetics & Orthotics and provides a summary of the potential education pathways which can be used in the development of a flexible, sustainable workforce. Education pathways are linked to the various levels and roles described in the career framework from level 1 to level 8 and where possible methods of funding are identified. The education framework guide is designed to be used as a tool in career progression, service development and education design.

Orthotic & Prosthetic Review

In 2015 the Government commissioned a review of Orthotic Services in England and produced a report. Stakeholders and Health Education England responded to this in 2017, and then again in 2018 with a one year on document.
